Use:
Sledgehammers can be integrated into a variety of workouts including circuits and high-intensity interval training. Aim for time or number of strikes and mix it up with a variety of diagonal and vertical strikes from both the left and right sides of your body. You’ll build strength, burn fat and get a great cardio workout at the same time.
If you’re new to sledgehammer training, start off with a lightweight and gradually work your way up. This will allow you to concentrate on developing correct technique and form while avoiding potential injury. Ensure you have plenty of space around you and enough clearance above your head. Avoid striking sledgehammers on hard surfaces that don’t have any ‘give’ – old tractor tyres are ideal.
